The Meeting 1,666 Days After The First "Groundhog Day" Email

Hello beautiful people!!

A quick little meeting tonight, with a few things that went down!

First we chatted about Ohiopyle! That happened, it rained a bit, but it was still fun and there was some rafting before the rain, so sounds like a success to me!

Breakneck will be occurring on the 24th of September! This is something of an outdoor teaching moment where we'll be leading some trainings in lead belaying, climbing, and cleaning. We are ideally looking for people already comfortable with belaying and some degree of outdoor experience who are looking to up their outdoor tricks of the trade! This is to help us get more people lead climbing and belaying to set routes on our larger trips where there are more gumbies. If you are interested please sign up here:

Our calendar on the website is now updated so you can look ahead for our tentative plan for trips! There are also names of officers if you click on the trips so that you can see who to contact if you have questions about specific trips.
We were also alerted to the fact that our FAQ page on the website is a tad outdated, so Marlo is tackling that shortly so that should be up and correct shortly. In the meantime, the FAQ on the discord is up to date! Join the discord here:

Jason has a biking info session about the gap trail outside the bike cave on Wednesday, from 12-1pm. The gap trail runs all the way from Pittsburgh to Washington D.C. and is a great introduction to long-form mountain biking. What's that Jason? It's called bike-packing? Like a portmanteau of biking and backpacking? Whatever you say! It's a great introduction to bike-packing! He promises that our beloved mascot Roc will be there, which is wild because I'm pretty sure my Freshman RA who was definitely Roc graduated. ANYWHO, please go there if you want to hear more about that and Jason will be more than happy to A all of your Q's.

Finally, there is a bitty film festival over at 3ROC this Friday (first film shows at 8:30pm). 3ROC is an outdoors store and will be showing 8 little adventure films about the outdoors in addition to hosting many other activities, food, and drinks. You need tickets for this event which can be purchased at either Ascend or 3ROC and SUPPOSEDLY. If you get there early enough, you might get a sneak peek at the new Ascend location opening in the strip, which is kinda dope.

Anyway, that's my spiel. If you have any questions email me! I'm around most days that my professors aren't trying to destroy my soul with coursework!

Love ya byeeeeeeeeeee,

PSA) I know this is a long overdue PSA, but Matt Maeson's newest album is indeed fire and he does still have it if anyone was wondering.
