Meeting 30 days after Groundhog Day

Hey folks, We're meeting in 203 Lawrence at 9pm tomorrow, Tuesday, March 3rd. There won't be any sign ups this week so just get stoked for sprang brake. Instead we're going to be talking about the budget, business majors rejoice. Boring as that sounds this is the best opportunity you've got to give feedback about what kind of trips you want to see the club go on next year, suggest new trips, and request that we budget for stuff or gear you think would help the club. Will this be the year we finally buy a stick clip? Maybe, who's to say. The only way to find out is to tune in Tuesday. Best, Jon

Hey folks, We had sign ups for a hiking trip to Cuyahoga National Park March 20-22 tonight. We're basically camping in here. You like camping right? Come camping.  Best, Jon

Meeting 23 days after Groundhog Day

Hey folks, You know what's pretty freakin' cool? The National Parks system. The whole ass government decided that there's cool stuff in the woods and we shouldn't mess with it because it's cool. I think that's pretty cool. If you also think that's pretty cool, we've got a pretty cool opportunity for you right after spring break.  March 21-22 we're heading out to Ohio, which is, regrettably, a part of this country. On the bright side though, we're going to Cuyahoga Valley National Park, a place that is certainly an Ohi-light of the state. Gonna do some hiking, it's gonna be pretty cool. I think there are some waterfalls, but don't take my word for it. Come sign up tonight if you think that sounds pretty cool.  We're meeting in Lawrence 203 at 9pm, then waddling on over to Cathy to hang out with the folks sitting in for fossil fuel divestment.  On that note, one of the biggest threats to public lands like national parks in the U.S. is f

Meeting 9 days after Groundhog Day

Hey folks, We're meeting tonight at 9pm in 203 Lawrence. There will be sign ups for the Lewisburg caving trip, so if you like to get down underground this is a chance for you and your headlamp to shine. This Thursday is Fossil Fuel Divestment Day, Pitt and about 50 other schools around the world will be holding rallies to demand that the University divest its endowment from fossil fuels. For those not in the know, Pitt invests a chuck of its 4.3 billion dollar endowment into the fossil fuel industry, which is, ya know, making the fucking planet unlivable for the sake of profit. If you think that's some bullshit, you're right. Come out Thursday at noon to do something about it. The location is a secret from now, but will be announced here:  https://www.facebook.com/events/845561722553610/ Also the No Man's Land Film Festival coming up. It's a sweet collection of films highlighting the women doing awesome, badass stuff in the outdoors. It's free and will be in the

Meeting 2 days after Groundhog Day

Hey folks, Direct democracy, good ol' rule of the mob, that and potentially pizza is what we're offering up in Lawrence 203 at 9pm tomorrow (Tuesday 2/4). That's right, it's Outdoors Club elections and it's time to let your self-determinative freak flag fly. There are absolutely no rules or election regulations so get weird. I want to see bribes, espionage, smear campaigns, and whatever other fuckery you can come up with.  We need new folks to step up and run for Hiking Chair, Caving Chair, and Secretary. This is also a time for everyone to voice their opinion on what the club does and how we can improve it in the future. Suggestions will be given extra consideration if they rhyme.  Best, Jon

What's up you wild woodsy weirdos? It's a new semester and I hope you're stoked to get psyched to get sendy in the great outdoors.  https://docs.google.com/presentation/d/1qiX5kggBk4RflqipxAjAEdj6TngQIPk4XjGc71OmYWc/edit?usp=sharing You see that ^ ? It's a link to this downright gorgeous presentation that the illustrious Kieran "El Jefe" Fitzmaurice put together.  Browse that shit and your eyes will be tantalized with info about some sweet new shirts and stickers, Nicole's Kickass Climbing Class ™, and potential jobs in the woods. No sign ups or anything tonight, but stay tuned. Best, Jon
