The Meeting 1,849 Days After The First "Groundhog Day" Email

Hello all you beautiful people!

I've been getting a decent few emails about this, so I'll put it at the top of the email, if you would like to unsubscribe, please go to this link to manage your membership: https://list.pitt.edu/mailman/listinfo/poc

Apologies for the delay on this email coming out, normally this would go out last night, but y'know, Pitt Basketball blah blah blah, it's here now! Let's get right into the recap of last night's meeting!

Calendar
Our calendar is updated!! If you would like to look ahead at this semester to see when trips are happening please check it out on our website here: https://outdoorsclubpitt.blogspot.com/p/calendar.html

Cherry Springs
We also held signups for Cherry Springs last night! This trip will be help from 3/24-3/26, accommodations will be inside cabins in order to minimize cold risk and there will be hiking and *hopefully* (fingers crossed) some lovely stargazing in what I believe is the least light polluted location in the state? (Note to self - fact check before sending email, or don't who cares there will be stars if it's not cloudy) Signups linked here: https://forms.gle/HDXkT9iiAuAXFgZEA

Coopers Rock
Last night we also opened up signups for Coopers Rock! Coopers Rock is a climbing day trip to introduce members to the lovely experience that is outdoor bouldering! At this stage, it's looking like our trip may be somewhat limited in capacity simply based on the number of crash pads we have, so if you have a crash pad and would like to come, you would be most welcome! Coopers Rock will be held Saturday, 3/25, leaving early-ish in the morning, returning that same evening, signups here: https://forms.gle/Brshr7KHowxt7GZt6

No Man's Land
Lastly, we have the beautiful return of NO MAN'S LAND FESTIVAL!
This Friday, 3/17, we will be hosting a festival where we will have lots of fun stuff happening!
The titular screening of the 2023 No Man's Land Film Festival, which is a collection of short films celebrating diversity in the outdoors! (http://nomanslandfilmfestival.org/
We will be distributing merch!!! We have ordered and should be receiving this year's merch shirts, however, they will only be available to those who reserved one ahead of time. There is the off-chance that later this semester we will hand out the extras to those who didn't reserve them, but that day will not be Friday. We also have stickers for members, your dues at work!!
In addition to all this, we will be holding a bunch of other fun stuff! A free raffle (making it not free is considered gambling which we're not allowed to do oops) will be offering many fun outdoors-y things and oh hey look at that there will be a SWPACC donation bin really nearby to the raffle, that's interesting, maybe you want to donate to the lovely people that keep outdoor climbing possible and are filled with the giving spirit from the free raffle, hard to say. Just some loose cash would be extremely appreciated, they are a lovely organization who climbers cannot speak highly enough of, they literally make outdoor climbing possible. We will also have some tables from local outdoorsy orgs! You should see my inbox, there are a lot of interested local peeps. When is all of this happening?? Great question, here's the sched:

1:30pm-2:30pm: tabling, merch, enter raffle, pizza, hangout
2:30-4: showing of No Man's Land Program II
4-5: draw raffle results

Thank you so much for reading through this email, I really appreciate it, I know it's a big one. But it's big because we're back!!! And that is lovely and amazing and so many trips to come (I think it's pretty much one per weekend, if not more).

Please just reply to this email if you have any questions!

Your dearest secretary,
Aidan
