9/26 Meeting Minutes

Hey folks,

In case you missed our awesome meeting tonight, here's what went down.

Sign ups for the New River Gorge trips were tonight.  We'll be going down over fall break, from Friday, October 6 to Monday, October 9.  The New has some seriously sweet climbing, some neat caves to crawl through, and a whole bunch of trails just waiting to be hiked.  

POC Trail Trots will be heading out from the big ol' tent in Schenley Plaza Monday at 6pm and Wednesday at 7pm.  

If you want to climb cool alpine summits like George Mallory, but not die on some big hill like George Mallory, check out the Explorer's Club of Pittsburgh's Mountaineering School.  They'll teach you all kinds of cool stuff about climbing mountains, and then finish with a winter summit of Mt. Ascend is having a bouldering competition on Saturday, October 7th, so if you're one of those people that thinks ropes are aid and cite Nalle Hukkataival as your personal savior, this is your time to shine.  There will be a free screening of the bouldering film Uncharted Lines at the after party. The Closing of the Semester

Hello all you beautiful people!! I am completely floored that it is already April 17th, we will not have a GBM tomorrow as we simply have no more information to impart! It has been an absolutely amazing semester and year! Two years back from the covid desolation, and I would hazard to say that you can't even tell. This year went by so much smoother, we had a better idea of what we were doing and the dozens of officers that joined our ranks made the process so much easier to manage. Thank you to all the officers who assisted in making this year the amazing success that it was. That being said, we do not have this club without all you beautiful people who show up to celebrate the amazing outdoors, so truly I say thank you to you guys as well. We have yet to decide if we're doing a senior send-off or something for the officers that our leaving us, I cannot say for sure what that will look like, but I'm sure I'll have a part to play in that.
